The index covers the 46 active EV listings asking between $30,000 and $50,000 inclusive on Electric Dreams, excluding all Tesla listings and the Nissan Leaf (both have dedicated index pages; the excluded counts are stated above), and refreshes hourly. Price figures are medians, not means, so one mis-keyed listing can’t skew them, and a model’s price is only published when three or more of its listings back it. Prices are asking prices, not sale prices, and the band is defined on asking price. Makes and models are resolved against our EV catalog; share percentages are of the challenger pool, not the whole band. Sold and withdrawn cars are excluded: this is a snapshot of what’s listed on Electric Dreams right now, not the whole NZ market.
