How it works

1. Browse without signing in. Search and filter listings from across New Zealand. EV-specific specs (battery, range, body type) are filterable.
2. Sign up to message a seller. Once you find something, a free account lets you contact the seller through Electric Dream — no spam, no public phone number unless they choose to share it.
3. Agree on the deal in messages. Conversation stays in one thread tied to the listing. Optional offer price travels with the enquiry.
4. Rate the seller. When the seller closes the listing as sold, you'll see a "Rate seller" button on the listing page.

1. Post a listing. Create one, fill in title, price, photos, and the spec fields buyers actually filter on. Free accounts can have up to 5 active listings.
2. Reply to enquiries in Messages. When a buyer enquires, you'll see it in your bell and inbox. Real-time chat — no lag, no refresh needed.
3. Close the listing. When you sell, mark it as "Sold via Electric Dream" and pick the buyer from your open enquiries. That flips the listing to sold and unlocks ratings for both sides.
4. Build reputation. Every successful sale adds to your seller tier (newcomer → established → trusted → expert → legend). Ratings follow you across listings.

If you're a registered NZ business selling EVs or e-bikes, become a verified dealer. Verification is manual: you submit your NZBN and we check it against the public business register.

Verified dealers get:

• A blue verified badge next to your name on every listing
• Unlimited active listings (no free-tier cap)
• A dedicated dealer profile page with business details and photos
• The same messaging, ratings, and reputation system as everyone else

Both buyers and sellers get rated. Each rating is 1–5 stars with an optional comment. The tier is computed from successful transactions and average rating:

• Sellers: newcomer → established (3 sales) → trusted (10 sales, ≥3.5★) → expert (30 sales, ≥4★) → legend (100 sales, ≥4.5★).
• Buyers: unrated → casual (1 purchase) → reliable (3 purchases, ≥3.5★) → serious (10, ≥4★) → trusted (30, ≥4.5★).

Ratings are public and tied to the listing they came from. You can't rate a transaction you weren't part of, and you can only rate each transaction once.
